Traffic to DuckDuckGo's 'No AI' search page has tripled
DuckDuckGo says visits to its opt-in, generative AI-limiting "No AI" search page have tripled since Google's latest round of AI search updates and public messaging.
The company framed the feature around user choice and privacy, and pointed people to browser extensions that can make the No‑AI page the default in Chrome or Firefox, blocking AI‑assisted answers, chat and AI images.
Google has been promoting generative AI features in search, placing AI mode more centrally on the homepage and highlighting tools such as AI Overview, alongside public statements from its CEO about AI adoption.
DuckDuckGo says the No AI option is about centering user choice rather than rejecting AI outright; it also offers an AI-forward alternative at duck.ai. The No AI page appears to filter out AI text and image results, and users can also rely on browser extensions or switch Chrome to the classic "Web" search.
