Steven Spielberg's new sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day is projected to open to roughly $115 million worldwide, with domestic receipts of $35+ million and $65+ million internationally, Deadline projects. The film, based on an original story, arrives in theaters this weekend.

That haul would surpass the original Jurassic Park's worldwide opening of $50.1 million and its $47.1 million domestic debut, and would mark Spielberg's biggest opening weekend for an original story that is not a sequel or adaptation. It would still fall short of openings such as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($269.0M), Ready Player One ($181.2M) and War of the Worlds ($167.4M).

Disclosure Day currently sits at 83% positive on Rotten Tomatoes, a favourable sign for box-office momentum. Still, the film faces a crowded summer slate: Toy Story 5 opens next week, followed by Supergirl, Minions & Monsters, Moana and The Odyssey, some of which skew toward younger audiences while Disclosure Day carries a PG-13 rating.
