I watched Halo Studios' 28-minute official playthrough of mission five, Assault on the Control Room, then replayed the original mission in the Master Chief Collection to compare. The remake is an Unreal Engine 5-powered do-over intended as a test run for Microsoft's next phase of Halo.

Cortana now offers more explicit guidance, even calling out directional lights, and HUD waypoints are visible at all times. The visual identity has shifted too: outdoor scenes are much brighter, with the sun occupying a more prominent role compared with the original’s dreary palette.

Gameplay changes are broad. Sprint is a default power, though a "no sprint" skull modifier is included; rockets from the SPNKR appear to lock on, and the remake removes non-regenerating health and med kits. Weapons show tighter hip-fire spread, and heavy vehicles like the Wraith and Scorpion steer and fire faster than in the original.
