Dennis Quaid says LA 'going downhill' and moved to Nashville
Dennis Quaid, 72, says he and his wife Laura Savoie, 33, left their longtime Los Angeles home in 2020 for Nashville because the Tennessee lifestyle has more substance. He told Fox News Digital that Los Angeles “used to be such a great town and the ’90s was nice,” but has “been kind of going downhill,” and he feels “like people pay these taxes for no services.” Quaid said the 2025 wildfires exposed “all those things that go on that should be taken care of,” and that he was forced to evacuate his Brentwood home.
More than 18,000 homes and structures were destroyed and 31 people died in the flames, and Quaid described residents as “half angry, and they’re half kind of feel like giving up.” He called himself “one of thousands” who has fled the City of Angels and said, “I really do [hope] the town comes back” because it “used to be such a fantastic town” and a “great community.” The actor also weighed in on the Los Angeles mayoral race, saying, “I hope Pratt wins.” He previously told the same outlet, “Why?
