Dodo Duckie mixes 2D and 3D platforming with ducks
Dodo Duckie is a cute platformer in which you play as Dodo, a duck trying to rescue his kidnapped chicken friends from some greedy aliens. The game’s twist comes from a stylish magical propeller hat, courtesy of Capie the capybara, which lets you switch between 2D and 3D play.
You can flip between 2D and 3D whenever you like. Exploring in 2D lets you traverse greater distances and make long jumps across terrain, while 3D reveals secrets hidden on the map and helps you line up your next leap.
Puzzles are scattered through the world and often require both perspectives. One example: a stone cube must sit on a weighted slab, but you can only pick up the cube in 3D and only jump in 2D, so you need to juggle dimensions to progress.
During a short demo the switching felt instinctive and the platforming is forgiving, allowing players to focus on perspective-shifting, puzzle solving, and taking pictures with the cute capybaras found across the world — a welcome break from the horrors of Silksong.
