Patrice Désilets, who spent 16 years on his next project, revealed 1666: Amsterdam at Summer Game Fest 2026. The witchcraft-fueled dark fantasy now has a release window: Panache Digital Games plans to launch it in early access sometime later in 2026, and a prologue demo is available for free on Steam and the Epic Games Store following the show.

The game invites players to explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day and uncover what lies beneath its surface at night. Every facade carries a gablestone, and Originals walk among the city’s citizens hidden behind human faces; players must identify and mark them, then confront their true forms under the moon during the Esbat to collect what is owed.

Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris, and each target can be approached in multiple ways—strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome, and every Esbat is a reckoning. Noa is joined by Aaron, summoned from 1999 and now seeing the world through the eyes of a cat.
