Gotcha Gotcha Games is closing the official RPG Maker forums and launching a new site called RPG Maker Guild, which aims to "provide a welcoming space where RPG Maker creators can connect, share projects, exchange ideas, and continue growing the community together." The closure FAQ says the existing forums will not be archived, putting a vast amount of history at risk.

The forum contains 1.4 million posts: the Legacy Engine Support forum has more than 280,000 posts across 45,600 threads, while the Javascript Plugins forum holds 276,000 messages in 34,700 threads. Users reacted strongly—"Closing the forums is already bad enough, but no proper archive?
