Zendaya Needed Tom Holland’s Help With Spider-Man 2 Boss Fight

While promoting the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya said in an interview with IGN Benelux that she’s been playing Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 — sometimes with help from her husband, Tom Holland.

Zendaya admitted she isn’t very good at video games and usually sticks to story mode, wanting to play alone even when Holland offers to take the controller. Holland recalled a late-game boss fight in which Mary-Jane turns into a monster; Zendaya said the encounter stressed her so much she refused to share the controller.

She told Holland, "You can not help me," but later conceded he had to step in because it was "a really hard level." The fight pits players against a fast-moving, hard-hitting symbiote version of MJ. Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31.
