Tottenham Hotspur have begun a summer overhaul, announcing the departure of 11 players whose contracts have expired, headlined by midfielder Yves Bissouma. Bissouma, who arrived from Brighton in 2022, made 111 appearances for Spurs, scored twice and played the full 90 minutes as the side defeated Manchester United to lift the Europa League trophy in 2025.

His final year in north London was marred by inconsistency and off-field issues, and he managed just 11 appearances in 2025-26 after returning to action in January. The relationship between Bissouma and the club deteriorated under Thomas Frank, who grew frustrated after the midfielder showed up late to training on multiple occasions.

Those disciplinary breaches saw him axed from Spurs' Super Cup squad for the clash with Paris Saint-Germain and left out of the club's Champions League registration list. This followed an earlier one-game suspension under Ange Postecoglou after he filmed himself appearing to inhale laughing gas, per The Sun.
