Death Battle’s latest YouTube episode pits Jujutsu Kaisen’s Yuji Itadori against Chainsaw Man’s Denji, and the match proves less memorable for its outcome than for how carefully it dissects both protagonists. Rather than treating the fight as a simple power-scaling exercise, the hosts lean into deeply detailed research to explore what drives each character.

Yuji is presented as a fierce yet kindhearted teen who uses Cursed Energy while carrying Sukuna, the King of Curses, inside him. Denji is described as stranger and rougher around the edges, an 18-year-old whose thoughts and behavior reflect a traumatic past, yet who can push far beyond ordinary limits.

Both lives are shadowed by literal death and by the view that they are too dangerous to be left alive: Sukuna’s possession of Yuji and the Chainsaw Devil’s fusion with Denji place them at the center of existential threats. The episode notes that Yuji’s life was orchestrated by Kenjaku as part of a plan to resurrect Sukuna, while Denji grew up amid poverty and exploitation.
