Yacht Club Games paused development of a 3D Shovel Knight game that had been built alongside Mina the Hollower. Co-founder Sean Velasco said the project was about halfway done and "not far from being showable" when the studio put it on hold.

The team consolidated resources to finish Mina, which Velasco described as the more troubled project. He said the top-down Zelda homage initially lacked some of the studio's more experienced developers and required rebuilding parts of the game.

Splitting the studio into multiple teams didn't suit Yacht Club, Velasco added: "We're going to want to stick together, no matter what we do." The immediate plans remain Mina-shaped, including support and marketing, but a return to Shovel Knight appears likely afterward.

Velasco expressed optimism about the studio's future pace. "At the end of Mina we were cooking, and it was great," he said. "If we could just be doing that in perpetuity, that's all we would need. Then the games wouldn't take so long."
