Xenoblade trilogy gets Nintendo Switch 2 editions, first out today
Nintendo has confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 Edition versions of the entire Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy are coming this year. While the announcement was partly overshadowed by news of Xenoblade Chronicles Genesis in 2027, the rollout begins today with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, followed by Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 throughout the year.
All three editions receive performance upgrades: 4K resolution and 60fps docked, and 1080p and 60fps handheld, with enhanced resolution and framerates for in-game cutscenes. The updates also add new content beyond technical improvements. Xenoblade Chronicles 1’s Switch 2 Edition launches today, with a physical release on July 30.
It adds voiced Heart-to-Heart conversations, new equipment designs and a touted “new high-speed vehicle,” and Nintendo’s footage suggests a racing mode built around those vehicles.
