Nintendo revealed a brand-new Xenoblade game during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct. The trailer for Xenoblade Genesis showed some early moments but was light on gameplay. A special power known as Anima permeates the world, and warriors called Vesselai can wield it. Based on the trailer, players will seemingly take the role of a warrior-in-training in what looks like a magic school.

Nintendo senior executive officer Yoshiaki Koizumi said Xenoblade Genesis "marks a new beginning" and asked viewers what stories they expect to be told. He also said to "please look forward to future updates," without specifying when they will arrive. The game is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and is expected sometime in 2027.

Nintendo also announced Nintendo Switch 2 editions of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, each receiving visual boosts and new content.
