Better xCloud's X account posted a screenshot of Xbox site code that appears to add a "Buy now Pay later" feature via PayPal and Klarna. The captured text reads "Buy what you love and pay later" and explains that "Pay later options offer flexibility to break payments up over weeks or months." PayPal and Klarna’s delayed payment systems let customers split purchases into staggered payments while the companies pay merchants in full.

When customers keep up repayments there are no extra fees, but falling behind can make purchases more expensive. Both firms primarily earn from merchants, reportedly taking up to five percent of the purchase price as a transaction fee, and also from longer-term APR rates and penalties for missed payments.

The maximum missed payment fee in the U.S. is set at $7 after a 10 days grace period, and continued missed payments can lead to debt collection and damaged credit ratings.
