Ninja Theory announced the next Hellblade game at the Xbox Games Showcase. It's simply titled Senua, and the reveal trailer emphasizes a shift toward action and gameplay, showing stealth and combat with different weapons while retaining strong cinematography and visuals.

Ninja Theory studio Dom Matthews called Senua "an out-and-out action-adventure" that "gives players more agency and a lot more gameplay." He said Ninja Theory and Xbox saw negative feedback about Senua's Saga's lack of meaningful gameplay and wanted to address that while doubling down on the presentation people liked.

The game remains linear but will offer a slightly more expansive world, more traversal options such as Uncharted-style climbing, and an expanded arsenal of weapons and focus abilities for combat. Ninja Theory chose the title Senua rather than Hellblade 3 to signal a different approach.
