Xbox announced it is moving its upcoming Fable reboot to February 2027, saying the shift will give the game a dedicated launch window amid a crowded 2026 slate. The post named Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Grand Theft Auto 6 as major releases next year.

The company noted that Halo, Gears and Call of Duty do not have release dates yet and that those timings are under Xbox’s control. Control, a third-party title, also lacks a set date, while Star Wars and Grand Theft Auto 6 are scheduled for October and November, respectively.

Fable was first revealed in 2020 and is described as a third-person action RPG set in Albion, featuring a morality system, marriage, housing and other player choices. The game was slated for 2025 in 2024, then moved to 2026 and later narrowed to fall 2026; it will now arrive in February 2027 and will appear at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
