X-Men '97 season 2 trailer teases possible return of a fallen hero

The first trailer for X-Men '97 season 2 has arrived. In the brief clip, Apocalypse declares that he's about to "usher in a new era forged in iron and blood." Another voice warns, "The ones you care for will be your undoing," to which Xavier replies, "They are how we survive." Polaris also has a quick butt-kicking moment of her own.

The release schedule includes a full list of episode titles that reveal plot beats. Episode 5, "Weapon X, Lies, and DVDS," will likely center on Wolverine (who all but died in season 1). Episode 6, "Danger," appears to focus on Danger, the sentient, physical manifestation of the X-Men's training simulator built by Xavier.

Episode 8, "The Dead Man's Hand," could be about Gambit; in the season 1 post-credits scene we see Apocalypse pick up one of Gambit's playing cards. Per the official synopsis, Season 2 "continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home.
