Wrexham mock Southampton over Spygate in fixture-list post

Wrexham aimed a dig at Southampton over the 'Spygate' scandal after the release of the 2026-27 Championship fixture list. Scheduled to face the South Coast side in September, the Red Dragons shared a graphic of their fixtures with the caption "Taking us into the international break," alongside a magnifying glass and spy emoji.

The trolling extended beyond an emoji. The calendar graphic included a reminder two days before the Southampton clash that read "check training ground," and the club crest was edited to show the silhouette of a man hiding behind a tree, a clear reference to the leaked images of Southampton intern William Salt, who was caught filming a Middlesbrough training session from a wooded area during the peak of the Spygate investigation.

The fallout for Southampton has been severe.
