I wore the Oura Ring 5 for 24 hours and it fixes my Ring 4 problem
I wore the Oura Ring 5 for a day, and the most obvious change is its size: it's visibly smaller and lighter than the Oura Ring 4. The new design is about 40% smaller and thinner, and Oura also advertises one extra day of battery life. To achieve that smaller profile, Oura redesigned the ring completely — changing the battery, refining the algorithm and inserting more powerful LEDs for health tracking.
It’s the company’s most substantial update across generations, and much of the software on the Ring 5 also arrives on the Ring 4. After a day of use my favorite improvement is comfort. The Ring 5 is much less noticeable on my finger and I can squeeze my fingers together without the small gap the Ring 4 produced.
It looks more like the jewelry I wear every day and, in thickness and width, is practically the same as a wedding band. The Ring 5 makes me optimistic about Oura’s future and about smaller, more capable wearable tech.
