Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set spans the Avengers and several X-Men, and it brings back Wolverine as a Gruul Legendary Mutant Berserker Hero. Wolverine, Fierce Fighter is a four‑cost, 3/5 with Haste that fights another creature when it enters the battlefield, and the card leans heavily into Logan’s iconic healing rather than the damage‑doubling of Wolverine, Best There Is.

The card’s key line reads, “If damage would be dealt to Wolverine, instead, that damage is dealt, but all other damage already dealt to him is healed.” In practice that means Wolverine must take the full five points of damage in a single hit to be destroyed, and blocking him with multiple one‑point strikes would see him take damage and immediately heal between hits.

You could even use a ping effect to clear damage, while effects like -1/-1 counters would lower the effective toughness needed to one‑shot him.
