Kotaku reports Witcher Online is a new free PC mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that adds online multiplayer for up to five players; it was created by user Rejuvenate and launched earlier this month on Nexus Mods.

Players must own a non-pirated PC copy of the latest version of The Witcher 3 on Steam or GOG to use the mod. It lets users customize their Geralt or use custom player characters, supports the Chill Out tavern mod for relaxing in-game, and synchronizes character animations, equipment, and combat across multiple players.

The mod can be used to play through the entire game with friends, but it does not allow players to assist each other in fights or complete quests for one another, so the creator recommends questing together and attempting objectives at the same time. The article's author framed the mod as primarily suited for hanging out and enjoying the vibes and expressed doubt that developer CDPR will take action similar to its response to a Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod.
