The Witcher 3 mod aims to recreate cut Catriona Plague questline

Modders Moonknight, Ferroxius, Crygreg and Glassfish are rebuilding a major cut questline from The Witcher 3 that would have explored the Catriona Plague and brought back the elven rebel Iorveth. Known as The WAR Project, the team plans a 10-hour, 12-quest expansion based on datamined material from 2024.

YouTuber and Witcher 3 specialist xLetalis is assisting with production and has shared details. The mod reintroduces and expands several characters, including a proper romance between Geralt and Ves, extra demonic threads involving Gaunter O' Dimm, new demonic enemies, and specialist Nilfgaardian soldiers wearing distinctive vulture masks.

Veteran modders are leading the effort—Moonknight and Glassfish previously contributed to the Brothers in Arms mod—and the project is roughly 25% complete. A demo featuring Geralt's romance with Ves is available on Nexus Mods. Original voice lines for these quests are lost, so the mod is casting roles in English and Polish, including Geralt; auditions are being held through the mod's Discord.
