Witch Hat Atelier season 2 officially announced
Witch Hat Atelier has been greenlit for a second season, with director Ayumu Watanabe and Bug Films returning to helm the project. The renewal was posted on the series’ official social media accounts shortly after the first season concluded, confirming that Coco’s journey into the world of magic will continue.
The show quickly became one of 2026’s most praised anime, largely for Bug Films’ meticulous adaptation. Rather than leaning on spectacle, the series treats magic as an intricate craft: every spell is drawn by hand, incantations follow clear rules, and discoveries feel earned.
That approach transformed the story from a standard coming-of-age tale into a blend of fairy-tale mystery and artistic celebration. Coco began the series as an ordinary girl who accidentally petrified her own mother after learning magic isn’t an innate gift but a learned language hidden from the public.
