Will GTA 6 include GTA Online?

Grand Theft Auto 6 is due to launch Nov.19 after numerous delays, and one big question remains: what will its online component look like? Rockstar has not confirmed an online mode, but given GTA Online's success many assume there will be one. GTA Online is still active and is currently in the middle of its annual weed-themed 420 event, which runs until April 29.

A recent hack of Rockstar’s financial data revealed GTA Online averaged $1.3 million per day between September 2025 and April 2026. The breach offered no plot details about GTA 6 or concrete plans for the franchise, but it underscored how lucrative the current online sandbox remains.

That money creates two main possibilities: Rockstar could launch an entirely new GTA Online set in the world of GTA 6, or it could fold GTA 6 events and characters into the existing GTA Online.
