Will Friedle says he hasn't given up on Ben Savage
Will Friedle says he hasn’t “given up” on his friend and former Boy Meets World co-star Ben Savage, who has been ghosting him and the rest of the cast. “I know I’m shouting into the void, but I’m going to keep doing it. I haven’t given up on my friend,” the Batman Beyond alum told People, adding he still has the urge “to pick up the phone.” Friedle and Savage played onscreen brothers Eric and Cory Matthews on the ABC series from 1993 to 2000.
Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, shared a similar longing to hear from Savage. “I love imagining him in this new chapter of his life as a dad. I know he has had a baby girl,” she said, calling it “sad” that she can’t be part of his other “milestones.” Fishel also said she has reached “a place of immense understanding and grace” about Savage not wanting to “look back” at their time on the show.
Fishel, Friedle and Rider Strong launched the rewatch podcast Pod Meets World in 2022; Savage was initially reported to co-host but stepped away.
