Why Did Robin Weigert Leave Tracker?
On Tracker, Robin Weigert played Teddi, one half of the office team that helped Colter Shaw find missing people. Fans noticed she was absent as of Season 2; the first episode explained she was traveling to help her mother and Velma returned home alone. Showrunner Elwood Reid later said the characters had separated, noting, "Velma is struggling with what it means to be abandoned in some ways, and she’ll work her way through that emotion." The reason Weigert left the series has not been made public.
Reports in August 2024 said she would not be returning, but no official explanation was offered. Observers have speculated it could relate to the small size of the role, contract or scheduling issues, creative differences, or a desire to keep her calendar open after a prominent part in the historical miniseries We Were the Lucky Ones.
Her absence allowed Velma to take on a larger role and opened space for Reenie to work more closely with the team, changing the show's dynamics.
