White House Montage Uses Persona 5 Imagery Featuring Trump
The White House posted a social media montage that concludes with AI-altered footage borrowing an All Out Attack from the video game Persona 5, showing President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and others in the game's victory sequence. The clip appears amid other clips of Trump, anime such as Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh, short segments of TikTok users in apparent distress, and screenshots of news articles about job increases.
Persona 5 centers on characters who use supernatural abilities to take down corrupt leaders, including a sex abuser and a corrupt politician. The montage's final image adapts Persona 5 party member Yusuke Kitagawa’s victory screen, replacing the game's dragon with a bald eagle, and the footage looks to have been lifted from popular Persona creator Faz’s videos.
Commenters have described the use of the material as a form of larping and criticized the decision to overwrite the artist character’s original victory pose.
