When Will 'Obsession' Release On Streaming?

Obsession has become a box office phenomenon. Produced for under $1 million, Curry Barker's horror about a man whose wish that his crush liked him leads to disastrous consequences has climbed steadily in its first three weeks, grossing $151.9 million domestically and $209.1 million worldwide.

The film had been slated for digital release on Jun. 2, 2026, but Focus Features pulled that date on May 31 as box office returns continued to grow; the movie still earned $5.7 million in theaters on the day it was originally set to stream. Universal had a pandemic-era deal that allowed digital release 17 days after theatrical debuts for films grossing under $50 million, but in 2026 the studio moved to a five-week theatrical window for most titles while Focus Features retained the 17-day option.

If the five-week timetable applied to Obsession, it would have been available on Jun. 16, 2026, yet with the film still performing strongly the distributor is likely to wait until it falls out of the top five.
