After years as a viral liminal horror concept, Backrooms has arrived in theaters and many viewers are wondering when they can watch it at home. For digital rental and purchase, recent release patterns suggest a fairly quick turnaround. Several recent films from the same distributor showed up on digital storefronts roughly a month after their theatrical debuts, though a few titles waited five to seven weeks because of strong reviews and sustained box office momentum.

That places Backrooms’ likely PVOD window at about four to six weeks after it leaves theaters, depending on how it performs. Physical releases typically take a bit longer. Following the distributor’s recent schedule, Blu-ray and DVD editions usually arrive around two to three months after a film’s theatrical premiere, with some horror titles following roughly a three-month timeline from theaters to shelves.

Subscription streaming is usually the longest wait.
