What Spider-Man’s Mutation Could Be Borrowing From the Comics
Set four years after the events of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day finds Peter Parker living alone and shouldering his responsibilities as a full-time friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. He faces costumed foes Tarantula and Boomerang before tangling with Scorpion (Michael Mando), Tombstone (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III) and the red ninjas of the Hand, while Jon Bernthal's Punisher and a rampaging Mark Ruffalo's Hulk add pressure that "sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence." The trailer shows a sweaty, disoriented Peter asking, "What is happening to me?" He collapses, wakes up hanging upside down in a web cocoon, and instinctively shoots organic webbing like Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.
