Weird Little Guys From Ocarina of Time I Want to See in the Remake
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a classic that set a standard for 3D adventure games, and it’s also packed with what I think of as “Weird Little Guys” — little gremlins, funny‑lookin’ dudes, creepy fellas and other odd monsters. They aren’t all male or small; what matters is a particular off‑kilter energy that can be conniving, unsettling, or just quietly comical.
Some of these characters start out genuinely terrifying — Redeads and the Dead Hand loom large in their dungeons — but repeat encounters tend to strip away some of the horror and make them feel almost silly. Other memorable figures include the Happy Mask Salesman and his mask scheme, the polygonal Great Fairy that shouldn’t be softened, the Deku Business Scrub who attacks then tries to sell you sticks, and Cojiro, the blue Cucco.
The Shadow Temple delivers more strange moments: talking faces in the wall, Bongo Bongo with its separated hands and drumlike attacks and grim backstory, and a host of odd frogs and Gorons like Biggoron. Even Mario’s cameo as Mr.
