Watch for microSD Express card deals for your Switch 2 this Prime Day
Prime Day is next week. If you own a Nintendo Switch 2, consider prioritizing microSD Express card deals — they are the main way to expand usable storage on the new handheld. Prices start at $59 for a 256GB microSD Express card on Amazon and climb quickly; more than double the console's onboard storage will cost at least $119.99.
These cards offer faster read and write speeds, and you cannot store and run digital Switch 2 games on older Nintendo cards. That premium is one reason prices have stayed high, and some have even risen: PNY's 1TB microSD Express moved from $199.99 to $299.99 in a matter of months, a $100 increase for the same capacity.
It's been a year since the Switch 2 arrived, and while discounts do appear, the dramatic launch-style markdowns many hoped for remain uncommon.
