A controversial video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs inviting a preteen Daveigh Chase to an “after-party” has resurfaced following the actress’s death. Chase — who was homeless and struggling with addiction when she died Tuesday at the age of 35 — was 12 years old when Combs, then 33, approached her backstage after the 2003 MTV Movie Awards and asked, “You coming to the after-party tonight?” The clip shows Chase nodding yes, prompting Combs to laugh and say, “Yeah!” The two had met earlier that night when Combs and Ashton Kutcher presented Chase with the villain award for her role as Samara Morgan in The Ring.

During her acceptance, Kutcher leaned in and told her she was “doing so good,” gently patting her arms, while Combs encouraged her to “take [her] time” at the podium. Combs was later convicted in July 2025 on two felony counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison, a sentence that has since been reduced multiple times.
