Victor Munoz: Liverpool sign €40m Spanish winger
Liverpool have activated Victor Munoz's €40m release clause to secure the 22-year-old winger, beating Newcastle to the move. He arrives as the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era and will be expected to help fill the gaps left by Mohamed Salah’s departure, Hugo Ekitike’s injury and Federico Chiesa’s anticipated exit.
Munoz came through the youth systems at Barcelona and Real Madrid before joining Osasuna on a five-year deal that included a Madrid buy-back option. Given the regular minutes he sought, he played a key role as Osasuna narrowly avoided relegation, contributing important goals and assists and winning two Player of the Month awards.
He earned a Spain call-up, scored on his international debut against Serbia and was named in the World Cup squad. On the pitch Munoz offers blistering pace, confident dribbling and positional versatility — able to play on either flank or in a central role behind the striker.
