Vanillaware's 23-year PC shun ends as Muramasa remake heads to Steam
Vanillaware revealed Muramasa: Revenant Blades during the Nintendo Direct. The game is a revamped version of 2009's Muramasa: The Demon Blade, which was originally a Wii exclusive, and is scheduled to arrive on Steam in 2027. Founded in 2002, the studio had not released a PC title until now.
Recent Vanillaware releases such as Unicorn Overlord and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim remained on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, even though both could have benefited from mouse-and-keyboard controls. Muramasa is a side-scrolling action RPG rendered in Vanillaware's ornate 2D art style, with multiple playable characters that each offer distinct playstyles and melodrama.
