Vampire Survivors Studio Reviewing Future Fortnite Collab After Epic GenAI News

Epic has spent recent weeks pushing generative AI as the future of Fortnite development and game creation via its upcoming Unreal Engine 6. That shift prompted one studio, Poncle, to suggest it might back out of an upcoming Vampire Survivors x Fortnite crossover.

On June 17, the official Poncle account on Reddit replied to a post about the collaboration. The comment stated: “Following today’s news about gen AI usage by Epic to create all sort of game assets, including Fortnite characters, we’re currently “reviewing” our collaboration with Fortnite. We’ll let you know if anything moves forward.”

The studio’s remark leaves the crossover’s future uncertain as Epic continues to expand genAI use within Fortnite.
