Valve sends free Steam Deck case after newborn ruined original
A father says Valve has earned his business for life after the company replaced his ruined Steam Deck case for free. Reddit user AHappyGummyWormx shared an image of a conversation with Valve support after his newborn vomited on the official Steam Deck case. He preferred the official case over third-party options and messaged support hoping to buy a replacement.
Valve did him one better and automatically sent a replacement without being asked. "Valve has a customer for life," the user wrote. The support email read: "We've submitted an order to have a Steam Deck 512GB OLED Case replacement part sent out to you," and gave a three-to-four-day processing estimate, noting a separate tracking email would follow.
Valve had no obligation to send a free case when the original was ruined by user error, yet did so anyway, which speaks to its customer service.
