Valve confirmed that the Steam Machine, a console-like PC, and the Steam Frame VR headset will ship this summer and that it is expanding the Verified program to include both devices.

The company did not provide specific ship dates or launch prices. The recent price increase for the Steam Deck—more than $200—has raised concerns about how much the Steam Machine will cost, with the base OLED Steam Deck now nearly $800.

Valve says the Steam Machine is six times as powerful as a Steam Deck, which should enable more games to run on it but also suggests a higher price. Games will be tested by Valve and receive the familiar green check mark if they pass; titles that struggled on Steam Deck will be retested for Steam Machine and Steam Frame verification.

Observers have suggested a Steam Machine price of $1,200 or more, and ongoing factors such as RAM shortages make that possibility plausible. The final cost remains unknown.
