Valorant Act 4 adds Summit map and 3v3 Retake mode
Riot revealed Act 4 of Valorant's 2026 season during Masters London on June 21, and the update goes live on June 24. The patch introduces a new map called Summit and a limited 3v3 mode named Retake. Summit is set in the Chinese training academy and monastery where Sage studied, and the cinematic reveal centers on her.
The three-lane map has two spike sites and three droppable walls that can be activated mid-match to change pathways and sight-lines. A Summit-only queue will run during the map's first week, and rank rating penalties for losing on Summit will be cut by half for the first two weeks of Act 4.
Retake removes planting and buying between rounds: players receive randomized loadouts each round and must attack or defend an already-planted spike. Its faster pace and emphasis on randomization stood out to the writer, who said the game's competitive buying grind had previously led them to step away.
