Valheim 1.0 launches September 9 with final Deep North biome

Valheim 1.0 will leave early access on September 9, more than five years after its initial early access debut in early 2021.

The 1.0 release will also expand platform support beyond PC, Mac and Xbox One/Series X|S to include PS5 and Switch 2. The game has built a large player base, with over 255,000 Steam reviews and a Very Positive rating.

Developer Iron Gate has been teasing the update for months, and a recent developer update said "we are entering the final stages of development." The Deep North expansion, billed as Valheim's final biome, looks heavily snowbound in trailers, showing icebergs, auroras and an icy fog.

Both the 1.0 launch and the Deep North biome arrive in September, leaving players only a short wait until the full release.
