For $13, an Amazon Smart Plug lets you control household devices with your voice through Alexa or the phone app. It’s currently listed at a 48% discount as part of the Amazon Prime Day sale.

I bought my first one during a past Prime Day and use it every day. It powers a thrift-store lamp in my bedroom; I ask Alexa on our Sonos Era 100 or Echo Show 8 to turn it on and off and have routines set so it comes on at dusk and the main bedroom lamps switch off when I say, 'Alexa, good night.'

Another smart plug runs a grow light, so I don’t have to remember to flip it on in the mornings or off at night, which keeps my houseplants healthier through the winter.

The plug is for indoor use only, connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and works exclusively with Alexa, making it best suited to an Alexa smart home paired with an Echo device. I’ve only seen it drop to $13 during past Prime Days or Black Friday week, and this is the lowest price I’ve seen; Prime Day 2026 runs from Tuesday, June 23, to Friday, June 26.
