Until Dawn 2 Confirmed for PlayStation 5 in 2027

Eleven years ago Until Dawn arrived quietly and became a fan favorite for its blend of cinematic horror and player-driven choices. The game built dread through bad decisions, Wendigos, cursed locations and the particular panic of realizing a small choice could doom an entire playthrough.

PlayStation announced Until Dawn 2 during State of Play, confirming the sequel will launch on PlayStation 5 in 2027. Firesprite Games is developing the title, taking over the franchise for its first release since Horizon Call of the Mountain. The new story follows a crew sent to an abandoned tropical island to film their first fully funded episode after signing with a major TV network — which, unsurprisingly, goes very wrong.

The reveal promised a new location, a fresh cast of characters and "one extremely creepy Doctor" familiar to fans.
