Universal Pictures has released a new three-minute behind-the-scenes look at Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, offering fresh footage and cast interviews ahead of the film's July release. The adaptation of Homer's poem follows Matt Damon's King Odysseus on a grueling 10-year journey home after the Trojan War, confronting gods and creatures such as the Cyclops and the sirens.

The Odyssey became Nolan's fourth R-rated movie in June, joining Memento, Insomnia, and Oppenheimer. The featurette showcases multiple epic action sequences that highlight Odysseus and his army in battle and during their trek back to Greece. Cast members including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya discuss the production, indicating the crew went to half a dozen countries and filmed in locations that had never been used before.

Nolan appears in the clip and admits that most massive tasks are described as an "Odyssey," suggesting this film was one of the most difficult challenges he has faced as a director.
