Deniz Undav scored twice off the bench as Germany came from behind to beat Ivory Coast in an absorbing World Cup Group E match in Toronto. Kai Havertz looked lively early on, but Yan Diomande's dangerous cross led to Franck Kessie opening the scoring after half an hour.

Germany struggled to find a consistent response as Ivory Coast threatened on the break, with Amad Diallo also causing problems down the left. Julian Nagelsmann's side finally drew level in the 68th minute when Nadiem Amiri crossed for Undav to volley home. Ivory Coast had a late chance when Nicolas Pepe picked out Simon Adingra, but Adingra took a touch instead of shooting first time and the opportunity was lost.

In the fourth minute of injury time Felix Nmecha slipped a superb ball through for Undav, who calmly finished to complete the comeback and claim his second goal of the game.
