Unbeatable Squirrel Girl makes Krenko, Mob Boss obsolete

Krenko, Mob Boss has long been the poster child for explosive token strategies, but a new card from the Marvel Super Heroes set changes the matchup. Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is a four-cost 4/4 Squirrel Human Hero that creates a 1/1 green squirrel token when she enters the battlefield or attacks via a triggered ability called "Do You Like Squirrels?" Her activated ability, "I LOVE Squirrels!", costs the same as her casting cost (three green and one colorless) and creates X 1/1 green squirrel tokens, where X is the number of squirrels you control.

That effectively gives Krenko’s token-generating effect as a mana-activated ability that doesn’t require tapping the commander, making it especially potent when combined with green’s ramp tools. Obvious synergies include Squirrel Sovereign, Squirrel Mob and Deep Forest Hermit, while lands such as Gaea’s Cradle and Evendo, Waking Haven can turn a wide board into a large mana base.
