Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost $80, and pre-orders for the highly anticipated game start tomorrow. Rockstar released a flood of images promoting the special editions, and a single shot of two revolvers stood out because the game's website appears to contain a lore mistake.

The $100 Ultimate Edition includes two personalized revolvers for the main characters, a clear nod to the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The site says the revolvers were "sourced" from the Vercetti Estate — Tommy Vercetti's mansion, which he takes control of by the end of GTA: Vice City on PS2.

The problem is the scoped revolver shown in the marketing art actually comes from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. In that game the scoped revolver replaced the .357 and was called the Equalizer. Vice City Stories, originally released on PSP, is set before the events of GTA: Vice City, and the scoped variant never appears in the original Vice City — so how was it recovered from Vercetti's mansion?
