Two excellent beginner 3D printers are now at record low prices

Prime Day has pushed several top beginner 3D printers to record-low prices, with Amazon offering unusually large discounts on machines that normally see better savings from manufacturers. The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 is down to $399.99 from $500, a $100 drop and an all-time low.

The Anycubic Kobra X is currently $299.99 instead of $460, about 35% off. The original Centauri Carbon also sits at a record low of $299.98; it’s very similar to its successor but lacks multi-color functionality out of the box and a couple of bonus features. The Kobra X has a footprint similar to the Centauri models but, without an enclosure, it feels less bulky and stores filament above rather than to the side as the Carbon 2 does.

The Carbon 2’s enclosure and rubber shock-absorbing feet make it quieter and less prone to rattling on a surface while printing. The original Carbon remains a solid, budget-conscious option and can be upgraded with a multicolor attachment and shock-absorbent feet separately.
