Trailer Confirms Bane as Main Villain in Animated Batman: Knightfall
Warner Bros. is adapting the Batman: Knightfall epic into three animated features, and the first trailer debuted at the Annency Animation Film Festival. The preview centers on a Gotham spiraling into chaos and places Bane squarely at the heart of the threat. Batman (Anson Mount) faces a rampage by his rogues gallery — the Joker, Two-Face, Mr.
Freeze, Scarecrow, the Riddler, and the Tally Man — driving him and allies Robin and Nightwing to the brink. Behind it all stands the monolithic, steroid-fueled powerhouse Bane (Michael Mando), who knows Batman’s secrets and how to destroy him. With Batman broken, Jean-Paul Valley (Pablo Schreiber) emerges, a combatant trained by a secretive religious order.
The trailer teases Valley’s high-tech Batman costume and his hooded Azrael appearance, and shows how his brutal methods force the true Batman to reclaim the cowl. Batman: Knightfall was directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams. Rick Morales is supervising producer, with Jim Krieg and Kimberly S.
