Toy Story 5: A Hilarious, Heartfelt Return

Pixar returns to its first franchise with Toy Story 5, a film that mixes rambunctious humor, detailed animation and plenty of action as it reunites Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the toys. Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris's densely packed script updates the series' familiar concerns for a world of screen-obsessed children, handling those themes with wit and warmth.

The story centers on Bonnie (voiced by Scarlett Spears), who enjoys the analog company of Forky, Rex and the others but is increasingly drawn to a Lilypad smart tablet (voiced by Greta Lee). Jessie (voiced by Joan Cusack) sneaks into Bonnie’s life to help her make a real friend at a sleepover, while the toys grapple with losing children to new technologies.
