Total War: Warhammer 40K beta confirmed after PC Gaming Show 2026 reveal
Creative Assembly showed alpha gameplay for Total War: Warhammer 40K at the PC Gaming Show 2026 and confirmed a closed beta later this year, though an exact date was not given. The demo opened on a clash between the Astra Militarum and an orc horde on the outskirts of a war‑torn hive city.
The map appeared more textured and urban than many previous Total War battlefields, with charred ruins and a bridge suggesting longer engagements than Total War: Warhammer 3's comparatively quick clashes. The game's UI revealed how ranged combat will function: most units have ranged attacks and each carries firepower values against light, medium and heavy targets.
Cadian Shock Troopers showed 5/10 effectiveness versus light targets but drop to 1/10 against medium and heavy foes, while a tank commander registered 9/10 against light, 10/10 against medium and 6/10 versus heavy.
